Time To Change: a counsellor in South Birmingham

COUNSELLING for CHILDREN and YOUNG PEOPLE

Are you worried about your child? Have you noticed them becoming withdrawn, angry, hard to talk to or secretive? Have you had reports that they are missing school, or getting in trouble, or their grades are being affected? Are you concerned that you can’t seem to help them and don’t know where to turn?

Counselling offers them a safe and confidential place to talk to an adult who isn’t their parent, relative or teacher about what is really going on.  Our sessions may involve just talking, or using  worksheets to explore specific topics, or creative techniques such as diary sheets, drawing , painting or using toys or objects for self-expression. I work with young people age 10+ and am fully trained in confidentiality and child protection legislation.

The most common concerns for young people include:

  • Anxiety
  • Self-harm
  • Anger and behavioural problems
  • Depression
  • Identity formation
  • Peer relationship formation
  • School and exam pressure
  • Bullying and school phobia

If you are from a school or college and would like to enquire about counselling services for your pupils, please contact Alex Pledger on alex@time-to-change.me.uk or 07779 004292.
