About Alex
My name is Alex Pledger. I’m a counsellor and psychotherapist with over 20 years' experience helping clients. I also work as a clinical supervisor, mentor to other therapists and I’m currently training to be a menopausal health coach.
I first began working in the mental health sector when I started volunteering at the Samaritans back in 2000. Since then I have followed a path which has taken me deeper into understanding the human condition, how we think and feel, how our behaviours affect us and, most recently, how our health and wellbeing have a direct impact on every aspect of our lives.
Why work with me?

My combined therapy and coaching background means I offer the kind of support which can help with your mental and emotional wellbeing as well as your physical and lifestyle health.
I know how important that support can be because I have worked with many great therapists, coaches and trainers over the years and my aim is to offer an approach which combines them all.
My clients have said I am down-to-earth, warm, easy to talk to, with a gentle but honest approach that helps you stay accountable on the changes you want to make.
I absolutely don’t have it all sorted! But I have knowledge, experience, skills and lived experience to share with you, 1:1 in a supportive relationship which could change the way you feel about yourself now and in your future.
