About Alex

My name is Alex Pledger. I’m a therapist with over 20 years' experience helping clients, a woman in my 50s, and someone who has been navigating menopause myself for the past four years.

I am passionate about working with midlife women. I am proud to be part of the movement which is raising awareness about menopause and helping women to take control of their health. 

My menopause journey

Like many women, my menopause journey hasn’t been straightforward.

I was misdiagnosed, I had confusing conversations with doctors, I was given treatment which made things worse before it got better.

Along the way, I did what so many women do. I assumed that I should be able to fix it. If I just found the right plan, tried a bit harder, ate less chocolate!  I couldn't make any of it work and it left me exhausted and unwell.

I turned back to my professional training and focused on studying. I learned from reliable, evidence-based sources and incredible women leading research in the field. I learned strategies to help with nutrition, exercise and healthy ageing and lifestyle changes which can transform your life for the better.

 

Menopause coaching is my way of sharing this information with other women, to help them them avoid some of the rabbit holes  where menopause can take you

I know how important that support can be because I have worked with many great therapists, coaches and trainers over the years and my aim is to offer an approach which combines them all.

I absolutely don’t have it all sorted! But I have knowledge, experience, skills and lived experience to share with you, 1:1 in a supportive relationship which could change the way you feel about yourself now and in your future.
